Deux Arts: The Art Creations of Barbara and Cary Wolinsky
January 16 — February 28, 2021

Pucker Gallery hosted artists Cary Wolinsky and Barbara Wolinsky for a virtual event moderated by Professor Jim Fitts and hosted by Gallery Director Bernie Pucker. Hear the stories behind Cary's photographs and learn about Barbara’s process and inspiration!

We really enjoyed you two on the webinar. It’s always good to see your faces and, of course, your work.
It was especially good to see and hear of Babs’ process. Of course I’ve seen her stuff at your house but to see it en masse with commentary was even better. Bernie’s questions added to the enjoyment; though you did dodge an important one. From the first day that I met you, I’ve been blown away by your ability to inspire trust. Twenty minutes after you arrived in Williston, you sat me down and started asking questions about some of the hardest things in my life and somehow, for some reason, I made a command decision that I could, and should trust you and that I could tell you the unvarnished truth. It was a moment of complete vulnerability and yet I felt safe. You are a remarkable man and I’m honored to be your friend.

“The images of the art were crisp and beautiful, and the rest of the production values were well done, so although we would have preferred to see the prints and the boxes on the gallery walls and to join you in person, it was a good way to learn about the work. I particularly admired the little animation of how Babs’s tall man box came together. This was an excellent artist talk for the Covid era. ”

“We found the discussions of each ones work very informative and enlightening: Cary’s stories about the individuals he photographed and Bab’ s stories of choosing pieces then adding them intuitively to develop or complete a composition. The discussion of how you each contributed to one another’s work added the sugar to the presentation. I am so sorry not to be able to see the exhibit in person. ”
